Quite frankly I wouldn’t mind if alibaba stored my data in China. In fact I’d expect them to.

The issue is that Apple’s iCloud data is encrypted and they are also handing their encryption keys to a Chinese company, which will surely allow the government access.

At the same time Apple is bragging how seriously it takes privacy, showing they’re not truly principled as this respect for privacy only seems to apply in the US.
