It’s official: Apple is making a car. But should it?

Apple loves to flex its green credentials.

In the past decade, the company has transitioned its facilities to run entirely on renewable energy.

Apple also claims to use recycled materials in nearly all its products.

Yet, there’s nothing environmentally friendly about the long-rumoured Apple car project.

Reuters reported last week that a partnership between Hyundai Motors and Apple Inc may be in the works to produce an Apple car.

Although an Apple car has been rumoured since 2014, this leak is the most definitive proof so far that an Apple car is in the works. Reuters claims we can expect production around 2024.

Rumoured to be an electric vehicle, the Apple car would of course be less polluting than traditional gas powered vehicles. Yet, while electric cars may be less harmful than their prehistoric counterpart, they are far from perfect.
